crockpot - Beef BowTie Casserole*
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
14 ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
16 ounce package bow tie pasta (farfalle)
10 ounce package frozen chopped spinach, thawed,
...thoroughly drained
1 1/2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
In a large skillet, saute ground beef, onion & garlic
over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
Transfer to 4-5 quart crockpot/slow cooker.
Stir in tomato sauce, tomatoes, and seasonings.
Cover and cook on Low for 7-8 hours or until bubbly.
When ready to serve, cook and thoroughly drain pasta.
Turn crockpot setting to High; stir in pasta, spinach
and cheeses.
Cover and cook for 10 minutes or until heated through
and cheese is melted.
Serves 6
