crockpot - Sauerkraut + Pork Chops
4 pork chops, 1/2 inch thick and trimmed
Vegetable oil for browning
1 med. onion, sliced and separated into rings
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3 cups drained sauerkraut
3/4 cup apple juice
1 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup sliced tart apples
Brown pork chops and set aside. Place in crockpot/slow
cooker 1/2 of onion rings, garlic powder, sauerkraut, apple
juice, caraway seed, salt, thyme and pepper.
Place chops on top and then remaining 1/2 of ingredients
listed above. Top with apple slices.
Cover and cook on Low 6 to 7 hours, or on High for 3 to 4
hours.
Makes 4 servings.
