crockpot - Steak Roulade
3 pounds Round steaks (thin)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup onion, chopped
3/4 cup bacon, chopped
1/4 cup water
Trim fat off steaks.
Season with salt and pepper.
Mix onion and bacon, spread over each steak.
Roll steaks up, as you would for a jelly roll.
Tie rolls tightly in several places with a string.
(Or you could try toothpicks)
Place steaks into crockpot/slow cooker.
Add water.
Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours.
If you want to serve this with gravy:
remove the meat when done, and thicken liquid
with a mixture of flour and water and cook it
in the crockpot set on High for 15 minutes.
