crockpot - Stuffing #2, (bread)
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
2 tsp. sage
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 quart turkey or chicken broth
1 1/2 loaves bread, break into small pieces
...into a large mixing bowl
3 eggs
Simmer butter, celery, onion, sage, salt. pepper and
broth mixture in saucepan 15 minutes.
Pour hot mixture over top of bread pieces and mix well.
Add eggs and mix again.
If more liquid is needed add hot water.
Pour into crockpot/slow cooker.
Cook on High for 1 hour, then on Low for 4 hours.
The length of time on low and high depends on size and
type of crockpot.
