Apple Crisp, plain*
8 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup water or unsweetened apple juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 ccup flour
1 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup butter
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Grease a shallow 2 quart baking dish.
In a bowl place apples, water and cinnamon; mix well.
Pour into baking dish.
Combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly.
Sprinkle over apple mixture.
Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour.
Serve hot, topped with whipped cream or ice cream
if desired.
Serves 8.
