Apple Lasagna

Apple Lasagna
2 c Cheddar cheese; shredded
1 c Ricotta cheese
1 Egg; lightly beaten
1/4 c Sugar, granulated
1 ts Almond extract
2 cns Apple pie filling , -20 ounces each
(or partially cooked fresh apples, measure 5 cups after cooking)
8 lasagna noodles; cooked al dente,
-rinsed and drained
6 tb Flour
6 tb Brown sugar; packed
1/4 c Oats, quick cooking
1/2 ts Cinnamon, ground
1 ds Nutmeg, ground
3 tb Butter; or margarine
for garnish:
1 c Sour cream, dairy
1/3 c Brown sugar; packed
Combine cheddar cheese, ricotta cheese, egg, granulated sugar and almond
extract in a medium bowl.
Blend well.
Spread 1 can of the apple pie filling over bottom of a greased 13 x 9-inch
pan.
Layer 1/2 of the noodles, over filling, then spread cheese mixture over
noodles.
Top with remaining noodles, then the remaining can of apple pie filing.
Combine the 6 tablespoons brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon and nutmeg in a
small bowl.
Cut in butter or margarine until crumbly.
Sprinkle over apple pie filling.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.
Cool 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the garnish by blending sour cream and 1/3 cup brown
sugar in small bowl until smooth.
Cover; refrigerate.
To serve, cut lasagna into squares and garnish with sour cream mixture.
Makes 12 servings.
