2 cups sifted flour
1 egg
water
strawberries per dumpling
granulated white sugar per dumpling
flour per dumpling
1 cup whipping cream
4 to 6 Tablespoons butter
2 slices cubed bread
Mix flour, eggs and enough water to make a dough just
stiff enough to roll out easily.
Roll out on floured board and cut into 6 inch squares.
Place 2 heaping tablespoons strawberries in center
and add level tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon flour.
Bring corners up to middle and seal.
Place in salted boiling water and cook 15 minutes being
careful not to let it boil over.
Heat butter in fry pan and brown cubed bread.
Remove dumplings carefully with a slotted spoon from
water and place in a large bowl.
Pour cream over and top with buttered cubes.
Heat more sliced strawberries in saucepan with sugar
to sweeten and flour to thinly thicken and pour over
dumplings in individual bowls.
