Meat - Beef + Broccoli Stir Fry

List of Ingredients
1 pound steak meat, sliced across the grain,
...in 1x1 1/4 inch strips
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
3 cups small broccoli florets, cooked for 2 minutes
...in boiling water, drained
2 tablespoons canola or corn oil
1 large onion, cut in thin wedges
1 tablespoon minced gingerroot
1 tablespoon sherry, or apple juice, optional
2 tablespoons cold water
Recipe
Sprinkle the meat with the cornstarch and soy sauce.
Toss to mix, and set aside.
Heat the oil in a large non stick frying pan until very
hot.
Add the onion and gingerroot.
Saute/stir fry for about 30 seconds.
Add the meat and saute/stir fry for about 2 minutes, just enought to brown the edges of the meat.
Add the broccoli, sherry/juice, and water.
Stir constantly until sauce is thickened and everything is steaming hot.
Makes 4 servings.
