List of Ingredients
4 large sliced Granny Smith apples
1 12oz. pkg. pitted prunes
1 c. unsweetened apple juice
11/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
Recipe
Combine all ingredients, except lemon juice, in a large saucepan and heat to boiling.
Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
Then simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes longer or until most of liquid is absorbed and the fruit is tender.
Remove from heat and add the lemon juice.
Beat until smooth.
Serve warm or pour into clean hot jars, leaving 1/4" space at top and seal with lids. Hot water bath for 10 minutes.
May pour into a storage container, cover, and store in the refrigerator for about 3 weeks.
Makes 64 one tablespoon servings.
