SoupStew - Lamb + Turnip Stew

List of Ingredients
1 lb. boneless lamb, trimmed of fat and cut into 1" pieces
1 medium chopped onion
1 tsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. minced garlic or equivalent in fresh
1/2 c. beef broth or a dry red wine
1 1/2 c. + 1 c. low sodium tomato juice, separated
2 medium potatoes, cut into 3/4" cubes
1 large turnip, cut into 3/4" cubes
1 tsp. dried sage
salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp dried cilantro or 1/2 c. freshly chopped
Recipe
Saute the lamb and onion together in the oil in a 4 quart saucepan until lightly browned.
Add the garlic, broth and 1 1/2 c. of the tomato juice.
Heat to boiling. Then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
Stir in the potatoes, turnip, and the 1 c. of the tomato juice.
Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the potatoes and turnip are tender.
Stir in the sage.
Sprinkle with the salt and pepper to your taste.
Spoon into bowls and sprinkle with the cilantro.
