Cheese + Bacon Dip, for in a Bread Bowl
Fry up 1 pound bacon until crisp, drain and crumble, reserve drippings
1 round or oval loaf of sourdough or french bread
Cut top and set aside for lid.
Leaving a shell about 1/2 inch thick, remove bread.
Cut into cubes and put on a baking sheet.
Brush inside of shell with reserved drippings.
Place shell on a foil lined baking sheet.
Bake both at 350 degrees F. for 15 to 20 minutes,
turning cubes occasionally.
In a mixing bowl combine:
1 cup Velveeta cheese spread, cut into cubes
1, 8 ounce package softened cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
Add:
1/2 cup finely chopped sweet green pepper,
...(try adding a little bit of hot pepper to your
...liking...yummy)
1/2 cup finely chopped green onion, (scallion)
Add bacon crumbles.
Scoop into bread shell.
Top with bread "lid".
Keep warm in oven at 150 to 200 degrees F. until ready
to serve, in about 20 minutes..
Serve warmed shell with bread cubes.
Serves 10.
