Hungary - Hungarian Goulash
2 lbs. stewing meat, cut into 1" cubes
1 large sliced onion
1 minced garlic clove
1/2 c. catsup
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 c. flour
1 c. cold water
noodles or rice
Place the meat in the crockpot/slow cooker.
Cover with the onion slices.
Combine the garlic, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, salt, paprika, and
mustard together.
Add the water and stir, then pour over the meat and onion slices.
Cover and cook on low for 9 - 10 hours.
Turn temperature to high heat.
Dissolve the flour in the water and stir into the meat mixture.
Cook on high for 10 - 15 minutes or until the sauce is slightly thickened.
Cook the noodles or rice.
Serve the goulash over the noodles or rice.
Makes 6 servings.
