A frosted dish of sorbet or granita is a burst of Arctic
air on a hot summer's day. Delicate, light and icy with
fruity flavors of green apple, raspberry, mango and
watermelon.
1 - Tropical Fruit Granita
Here's an elegant granita that's a cross between a cocktail and dessert. A
chrysanthemum-colored, crystalline ball that shimmers in your dish - an
exotic nectar of freshly-squeezed passion fruit and orange juices, tropical
pineapple, champagne and white rum. Frozen then scooped into a dessert dish,
garnished with mint.
2 - Green Apple & Candied Ginger Sorbet
Garnished with thin slices of apple and sprigs of mint, this pretty, pale
green sorbet is made with tart green apples, apple juice and fresh lime
juice, giving it a sweet-tart flavor. Added in is candied ginger which gives
it an elegant zing.
3 - Pina Colada Sorbet
This creamy, coconutty sorbet can also be served as a granita. Instead of
processing it in an ice cream maker, chill it in the freezer until it
hardens into an icy consistency. Either way it's served, this tropical
dessert, made with coconut milk, pineapple juice and dark rum, will be a
pleasant ending to your summer evening meal.
4 - Raspberry-Chambord Sorbet
A burst of color and flavor, these deep crimson scoops start out as a warm
sugar syrup and whole fresh raspberries. The fruit is pureed then combined
with the syrup along with lemon juice, freshly squeezed. To intensify the
already natural fruit flavor, Chambord is added to the mix before freezing.
Placed in our Krups Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker, it's processed until frozen.
5 - Watermelon Granita in Lime Cups
Our mini melons will delight kids as well as adults with their refreshing,
shaved ice texture, served inside carved-out lime cups, dotted with
currants. Once the watermelon mixture has set, scrape with a spoon and mound
inside the lime cups. Serve on a bed of crushed ice!
6 - Mango Sorbet
These fruity scoops resemble bright balloons, a profusion of summertime
color. Superfine sugar and lemon juice are combined with chopped mango and
simmered until the fruit fully infuses the liquid. Pureed in a food
processor, the mixture is frozen until the desired consistency. For added
color in your dish, serve with our Strawberry Sorbet, made with fresh
strawberries in place of the mango.
7 - Lemon-Rosemary Sorbet
Both tangy and herbal, this sorbet is the perfect dessert served on those
sweltering summer evenings. Finely chopped fresh rosemary, lemon juice and
vodka add a flurry of flavor to the frosty white scoops
