Pizza Hot Dogs

6 frankfurters/hot dogs of choice
3 slices of American cheese, each cut into 4 strips
1, 10 ounce can refrigerated pizza crust
1/2 cup pizza sauce, heated

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Coat a baking pan with cooking spary.
Slit each hot dog lengthwise to within 1/2 inch of each end.
Place 2 cheese strips in each slit.
Gently pat pizza crust into a 12x8 rectangle.
Cut into 6 rectangles (each about 6x2 1/2 inches).
Place 1 hot dog, cheese side down, in center of each
rectangle and wrap dough around hot dogs.
Make sure to cover completely.
Pinch sides and ends to seal.
Place, seam side down, on baking sheet.
If desired, brush dough with beaten egg white.
Bake for 6 to 9 minutes or until lightly golden.
Slit across top to resemble slit in a hot dog bun.
Cover top with favorite toppings.*
Spoon warm pizza sauce on top, or use for dipping.

*Top with diced pepperoni, sauteed onion, green pepper, mushrooms, etc.
Anything you would put on your favorite pizza. Can use white cheese and top
with sauteed spinach and garlic. The variety is endless.
