    Apple Crumble, ( 50 )

    18 to 20 pounds thinly sliced or crushed apples,
    ...fresh is better but may use canned
    2 Tablespoons ground cinnamon
    1 1/2 cups granulated white sugar
    4 cups water
    for topping:
    1 1/2 cups butter, softened
    3 pounds flour
    4 teaspoons salt
    4 cups granulated white sugar

    Blend apple, cinnamon, sugar and water toether and place in the
    bottom of 6 to 8 large pie dishes or 2 large roasting pans.
    for topping:
    Mix butter with flour and salt (should form little balls).
    Add sugar and blend well.
    Sprinkle on top of apple mixture.
    Bake in a moderate, 350 degrees F. oven for approximately 1 hour.

    Serving suggestion: This is really great served warm with vanilla
    ice cream.
