1 3/4 lb flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 1/2 lb sugar
3 1/2 cups milk
3 oz cocoa
1 1/2 oz baking powder
6 oz butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Topping:
3 oz cocoa
1 1/4 lb brown sugar
6 cups boiling water
Mix together flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and cocoa. Add melted butter,
vanilla and milk to make a batter. Spread into greased dishes/pans. Mix
brown sugar and cocoa for topping. Sprinkle over each dish. Pour boiling
water over top. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F) for approx. 1 hour.
Serving suggestion: Serve with whipped cream and/or vanilla icecream.
