Spiced Oranges
1 c. red wine, such as claret or burgundy
1/2 c. unsweetened orange juice
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon or 1 cinnamon stick
3 oranges
sugar substitute to taste
Place wine, orange juice, and cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to
boil.
Boil hard for 2 minutes, then remove from heat or microwave on
high 2-3 minutes.
Peel and thinly slice oranges, removing all pith and seeds.
Arrange in a glass serving bowl.
Pour wine mixture over oranges, discarding cinnamon stick.
Chill well and sweeten before serving. Makes 4 servings.
To store: Cover and refrigerate for up to four(4) days.
