Tasty Meatballs
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
1 cup applesauce
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
Only a little salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups of the soft bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1 - 2 teaspoons beef bouillon
1 small chopped onion
3 level Tablespoons flour
1, 10 3/4 ounce can consomme soup
2 Tablespoons vegetable shortening
Combine all ingredients except flour, soup and Crisco.
Roll into meatballs and brown in shortening.
Remove from pan. Leave drippings in pan.
Whisk in flour, then the soup.
Pour over meatballs.
Bake one hour at 350 degrees F.
