Beef + Pork Stuffed Onions

Beef + Pork Stuffed Onions
6 large sweet onions, peeled
1/2 pound lean ground beef
1/4 pound breakfast sausage, casings removed
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 Tablespoon prepared yellow mustard
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 cup chili sauce
Cook onions in boiling salted water for 30 minutes.
Drain and let cool.
Cut a slice of the top of each onion.
(You could also cut a small slice off the bottom to help
make them stand).
Remove centers.
Chop centers and reserve 2 tablespoons.
Place onions in baking pan.
Combine ground beef, sausage, salt and pepper, mustard,
bread crumbs, chili sauce, and the 2 tablespoons of chopped
onion centers.
Stuff onions in baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes.
Serves 6.
