Refrigerator Bran Muffin Mix

List of Ingredients
4 c. all bran
2 c. Nabisco 100% Bran
1 heaping c. butter flavored shortening
3 c. sugar
2 c. boiling water
4 beaten eggs
1 quart buttermilk
5 c. flour
5 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Recipe
Pour boiling water over bran, shortening and sugar. Stir.
Add eggs, and buttermilk and mix well.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together and add to water mixture.
Mix well, and pour into covered container and refrigerate.
Will keep 6 to 8 weeks.
To bake:
Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease or paper line a muffin pan.
Fill 2/3 full and bake 20 to 25 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
Variation:
Add 1 c. raisins or chopped apples.
