Flea B Gone Cookies for Dogs
Source of Recipe
gosh, I can't remember where this one came from
Recipe Introduction
Sounds like a good idea to me.
The dogs will like it and you will like that the dogs don't bring the fleas into your house.
It is the yeast and garlic mix that does the trick.
List of Ingredients
2 c. unbleached white flour
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. brewer's yeast (can find this in most dept stores pet dept.
...or can get from the health food store)
2 cloves minced garlic
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tbsp. honey
1 c. chicken or beef stockRecipe
Preheat oven to 400. Grease cookie sheets.
Combine the flour, wheat germ, and yeast in a bowl.
Mix the oil, honey and garlic together and slowly add to the flour mixture, alternately with the chicken stock.
Continue until all the ingredients are blended into a smooth dough.
Roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4" thickness.
If you are not used to working with dough, you can roll out the dough in batches.
Use any shape cookie cutter you want that is approximately 2" in size to cut out the biscuits.
OR, roll into walnut sized balls, lay on the cookie sheet and flatten with bottom of glass dipped in oil.
Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, until browned.
Cool in the oven.
Let set for a few hours to dry out.
Store in an airtight container.
