I have had this a couple of times and it is good...on the sweet
side but good. I really don't think it is necessary to use all the
brown sugar, probably 1/4 cup would be enough. Use this easy
recipe with leftover apples from the fall or anytime in the year
when you want an easy take-along dish or when company arrives
at your door unexpectedly!!!! Serve warm with ice cream or
    whipped topping

    Apple Crisp #2, cakemix

6 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
    1 cup water
1, 18.25 ounce package white cake mix
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/2 cup butter, melted
    1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Lightly grease a 9x13x2 inch baking dish.
Arrange apples in an even layer in bottom of dish.
    Pour water over apples.
In a medium bowl mix together cake mix, brown
    sugar, and cinnamon.
Stir in melted butter until ingredients are thoroughly
blended; will be crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake for 50 to 55 minutes.
    Makes 12 servings.

    Note:
You can substitute 2 (21 ounce) cans of apple pie filling
for the apples and water, if you prefer.
