    Black + White Pie

    for the crust:
    6 Tablespoons sweet butter
    2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs
    1 teas. pure vanilla extract

    for the filling:
    3 eggs, whites separated yolks
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 cups light cream
    1/4 teas. grated nutmeg
    pinch of salt
    2 Tablespoon dark rum, or equivalint
    1 cup heavy cream, whipped
    grated semisweet chocolate

    for the crust:
    Melt butter and mix with the crumbs. Add vanilla extract.
    Press into a 10-inch pie pan. Bake in 350º oven for 15 minutes
    for the filling:
    Beat the egg yolks until thick, add sugar, and beat again.
    Stir in the light cream. Add nutmeg, salt and rum.
    Whip the egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Fold them into the egg yolk
    mixture. Pour into the pie pan shell.
    Bake at 325 degrees F. for 25 minutes. Let cool.
    Serve with the cream and sprinkle with the grated chocolate.
