    Traditional scones with a new twist -- chocolate chips.

    List of Ingredients




    1 3/4 c. flour
    3 tbsp. sugar
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. cold sweet cream butter spread
    1/2 c. semi sweet real chocolate chips
    1 + 1 slightly beaten egg, separated
    4 - 6 tbsp. half & half

    Recipe



    Heat oven to 400. Use an ungreased baking sheet.
    Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in medium bowl.
    Cut in butter spread until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Stir in chocolate chips, 1 egg and just enough half & half so
    dough leaves sides of bowl.
    Knead dough lightly 10 times on lightly floured surface.
    Roll into 9" circle; cut into 12 wedges.
    Place wedges onto baking sheet.
    Brush tops with beaten egg.
    Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
    Immediately remove from baking sheet.
    Makes 12.
