Chocolate Pie

List of Ingredients
4 egg yolks
2 cups sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup cornstarch
1 cup + 3 cups milk, separated
2/3 cup baking cocoa
hot water
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 tablespoon butter
1 large baked pie crust, or 2 small ones
1 meringue recipe for the 4 egg whites
Recipe
Beat the egg yolks in saucepan.
Add the sugar, salt, cornstarch and 1 cup of the milk. Blend well.
Stir in remaining the 3 cups milk.
Use a small bowl to whisk the cocoa with just enough hot water
so the it dissolves. Then stir it into the milk mixture.
Cook over a medium heat until it is thickened, stirring constantly.
Add the vanilla and butter stirring well.
Pour into the pie crust(S).
Make the meringe and spread over the top, to the edges so it
seals the pie.
Bake at 350 degrees F. until light brown.
Chill and serve.
