    Chocolate Shoo Fly Pie

    Top part:
    2 cups brown sugar
    1 cup lard or oil
    2 eggs
    4 tbsp. cocoa
    2 cups molasses
    4 cups flour
    2 cups hot water
    2 tbsp. baking soda
    2 tbsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. Salt

    Mix sugar, oil, eggs and cocoa. Add soda to molasses and hot water. Add
    to first mixture. Then add flour, cinnamon, salt and vanilla.

    Bottom Part:
    Cook this together
    1 quart water
    1 1/4 cup sugar
    2 tbsp. cocoa
    3 tbsp. clear jell
    1 tsp. vanilla
    Butter---size of walnut

    Add butter and vanilla when cooked. When bottom part cooked put in baked
    pie shell. Then put top part on. Bake 325' for 1 hour. When cooled top
    with chocolate icing.
