    German Chocolate Pie

    1 unbaked deep dish pie shell
    1 4oz. pkg. German sweet chocolate
    1/4 c. butter
    1 12oz. can evaporated milk
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 tbsp. cornstarch
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/2 c. shredded coconut
    1 c. chopped nuts, optional

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 375.
    In a saucepan, combine the chocolate and the butter and melt over a low heat.
    Remove from the heat and blend in the evaporated milk. Set aside.
    In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
    Blend in the melted chocolate mix and pour into the pie shell.
    Combine the coconut and nuts together and sprinkle on top of pie.
    Bake for 45 minutes.
    Makes 1 pie.
