Peach Kugan, (German)

Recipe Introduction
I think my mother got this one from the local newspaper many years ago. I have made slight modifications. And if you don't care for sour cream, don't worry, you can't really tell what it is this way.
Peach Kugan
1/2 cup butter
1 cup + 2 Tablespoons sugar, separated
2 cups sifted flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
28 - 30 ounce can peaches, drained (approximately 12 halves)
(I use slices and squeeze in as many as I can)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8 ounces sour cream (1 c.)
2 egg yolks
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Need an 8x8x2 inch pan.
Mix butter, flour, 2 Tbsp. sugar, baking powder and salt into crumbly mixture. Press on bottom of pan.
Lay peaches on top, (this is where IF I use halves, I would put some sliced ones in between the halves).
Mix the 1 c. sugar and cinnamon together, (Set aside 2 Tbsp.). Sprinkle over the peaches.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Mix sour cream, yolks and reserved sugar/cinnamon together.
Pour over top and bake again for 30 minutes.
Let cool a couple of hours to set and then serve; or refrigerate if not going to use the same day.
