    Strawberry Pie#1**

    1 baked pie crust
    1 quart strawberries

    Clean and wash berries--wash thoroughly and strain dry.
    Set aside.

    1 cup strawberries from the cleaned ones
    1 cup granulated white sugar
    2/3 cup and 1/3 cup water, separated
    3 level Tablespoons cornstarch

    Place the cup of berries, sugar and the 2/3 cup water in
    a large saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes.
    Mix the cornstarch with the other 1/3 cup water. Add this
    mixture to the cooked berries, stirring constantly until
    thick and clear. Remove from heat.
    Add all the remaining berries to the mixture and stir
    l i g h t l y to cover.
    Pour into baked pie crust. Let cool, then refrigerate.
    Top with whipped cream when served.
