that came with my perfect donut maker.
It bakes instead of frying and came with 2
pans and a icing decorating tube w/tips.
This is called New Orleans in the recipe book
donuts - Orange, baked
1 cup flour
1 Tablespoon granulated white sugar
1 Tablespoon baking powder
2 eggs, separated
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 cup milk
2 Tablespoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind
1/2 teaspoon salt
Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
Beat egg whites until light and fluffy; set aside.
Next beat together egg yolks and sugar until light
and creamy.
Add salt, orange juice, oil and orange rind to egg
yolk and sugar mixture and beat well.
Mix flour and baking powder together and add to egg
yolk mixture, alternating with milk as you go.
Finally, fold in egg whitew until well incorporated.
Lightly coat donut pan with cooking spray.
Pour batter into molds up to 2/3's full.
Bake 7 minutes or until tops spring back when lightly touched.
Let cool. Remove and dip into glaze if desired.
When donut pan is cool, wipe clean and repeat process for baking.
Makes approximately 12 large donuts or 36 bit size donuts.
