1 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup granulated white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup solid pack canned pumpkin
1/4 cup milk
2 Tablespoons oil
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
oil for deep frying
to roll doughnuts in:
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
In deep fat fryer or heavy saucepan, heat 1 quart oil to 375 degrees F.
In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves; blend well.
In another bowl, combine pumpkin, milk, oil, vanilla and egg.
Stir pumpkin mixture into dry mixture just until moistened.
Drop by teaspoonfuls into hot oil, 5-6 at a time.
Fry drops 1 - 1 1/2 minutes on each side until brown.
Drain on paper towel.
to rolldoughnuts in:
Combine sugar and cinnamon together.
Roll warm doughnuts in mixture.
Makes 30-36 doughnut drops.
