    Pork Roast w/Beer

    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    pinch marjoram
    pinch basil
    1 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    4 to 5 pound boneless pork loin roast
    2 to 3 coarsely chopped medium onions
    1 1/2 cups beer/light or apple juice

    Combine salt, marjoram, basil, pepper and garlic powder.
    Rub all over roast.
    Place roast in roasting pan and surround with onions.
    Pour beer into the pan, Not over the roast.
    Cover, and bake at 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes.
    Remove cover and turn roast over.
    Continue to roast for 1 1/2 hours more, checking every
    20 minutes or so, adding more liquid if needed.
    Roast is done when internal temperature reaches
    180 degrees F.
    Make gravy with pan juices, if desired.
    Makes 8 to 10 servings.
