Frankfurt Chocolate Pudding

1/2 c. butter, (1stick)
2/3 c. white sugar
5 eggs, yolks and whites separated,
...with the whites stiffly beaten
3 1oz. squares melted semi sweet chocolate
1 1/2 c. finely chopped almonds, optional
3 tbsp. bread crumbs
2 tbsp. strong black coffee
1 tbsp. rum, optional
whipped cream
Recipe
Butter the inside of a ring mold or Bundt pan, then coat with some sugar.
Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg yolks one at a time, blending well after each addition.
Add the chocolate, almonds, bread crumbs, coffee, and rum and blend well.
Fold in the egg whites.
Pour the pudding mixture into the mold and cover with aluminum foil.
Place in a pot large enough to hold the pan with some space around the sides.
Pour water into the pot, around the sides to reach 2/3 way up the side of the mold.
Simmer on the stove top for 1 - 1 1/2 hours, or until the pudding is completely set.
Let cool for 5 minutes and invert onto a serving platter.
Serve warm with whipped cream if desired.
Serves 8 - 12.
