Rice Pilaf #1
1/4 c. butter
2 c. uncooked long grain rice
1 quarts water
1 Tbsp. chicken bouillon granules or 2 cubes
5 finely chopped green onions
1/3 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. toasted slivered almonds, optional
Melt the butter in a Dutch oven type pan.
Add the rice and saute for 3 - 5 minutes until lightly browned.
Slowly add the water and bouillon and stir.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes or until the rice is tender.
Remove from heat; stir in onions and soy sauce.
Cover and let stand for 5 minutes.
Stir in almonds.
Makes 8 - 10 servings.
