Carmel Corn #1
1 c. popcorn kernels, popped, (air popped works best)
2 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 c. butter, (2 sticks)
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
chopped nuts, optional
Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. Need a baking sheet.
Use a large saucepan to cook sugar, corn syrup, butter, salt,
and cream of tartar over a medium heat.
Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
Add baking soda, this will expand...and mix.
Add any nuts at this time.
Pour carmel over popcorn and mix.
Spread on sheet and bake for 1 hour.
