A tasty and healthy recipe for a snack or as a cold breakfast cereal.
List of Ingredients
1 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup molasses
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
8 cups oatmeal
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 cup shelled sunflower seeds
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup wheat germ
3 cups raisinsRecipe
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Need 2 or 3 baking sheets.
Combine water, sugar, honey, oil, molasses, and cinnamon in a saucepan.
Simmer over a medium heat.
Combine the remaining ingredients, except raisins, in a very large mixing
bowl.
Add syrup and stir to combine thoroughly.
Divide between baking sheets and bake for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every
20 minutes, until toasted and dry.
Allow to cool.
Then add the raisins.
Makes about 4 quarts.
