    Golden Slaw Salad

    Recipe Introduction

    This is a different version of an old favorite.

    List of Ingredients

    1 med. head green finely chopped cabbage
    1 med. finely chopped onion
    3/4 c. + 1 tbsp. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    1 tbsp. salt
    1 tbsp. prepared yellow mustard
    1 tbsp. celery seed
    1 c. salad oil

    Recipe

    Put cabbage and onion in a large bowl and toss together.
    Sprinkle with the 3/4 c. sugar.
    Boil vinegar, the 1 tbsp. sugar, salt, mustard and celery seed together for a few minutes.
    Add the salad oil to the vinegar mixture and bring to a boil again, stirring constantly.
    Pour the liquid over the cabbage mixture.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight. Drain before serving.
    Will keep for several days in the refrigerator.
    Makes 8 servings.
