    Openfaced Italian Beef Sandwiches

    List of Ingredients




    1 green pepper, sliced into 1/4" strips
    3 freshly minced garlic cloves
    non stick cooking spray
    2 lbs. leftover thinly sliced beef roast
    leftover gravy/pan drippings
    tomato sauce
    2 tsp. dried oregano
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1 tsp. dried parsley
    salt to taste
    1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
    slices of Italian bread

    Spray a frying pan with non stick cooking spray.
    Saute the peppers and garlic together for about 4 - 5 minutes. Set aside.
    Place the beef slices in a Dutch oven sized pot.
    Add the gravy, tomato sauce, and just enough to cover the meat.
    Add the peppers and garlic, oregano, basil, parsley, salt and pepper and bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
    Taste and adjust seasonings, if needed.
    Serve on top of the bread slices.
