Serve over any pork cuts, grilled, broiled or fried.
List of Ingredients
for the white sauce: (you will need 2 c. for this recipe)
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 c. chopped onions
1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
Recipe
for the white sauce: Makes 2 cups.
Melt butter over low heat in sauce pan.
Blend in flour and salt over a low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and bubbly.
Cook for at least 1 minute to eliminate raw flour flavor.
Remove from heat.
Very SLOWLY add the milk, a little at a time, stirring constantly to make a smooth paste.
Continue until all milk is mixed in.
Return to heat, stirring constantly, and bring to a boil again, continuing to stir until thickened.
Cover the pan with a tight fitting lid to prevent a film forming until the sauce is used.
In a frying pan, saute the onion in the olive oil until the edges begin to brown.
Whisk in the white sauce.
Add the poultry seasoning and black pepper.
Bring to a low boil, then simmer about 5 minutes.
Makes 2 1/2 cups.
