Baked Cabbage + Cheese Casserole

This is a wonderful side dish, I usually serve it with
ham steaks! Enjoy!
Baked Cabbage + Cheese Casserole
1/2 Head Large Green Cabbage, finely shredded
2 Cups Cornflakes, slightly crushed, divided
1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
1/4 Cup Butter, melted
1 Can (10.75 oz) Cream of Celery Soup
1 Cup Milk
1 Cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Soak shredded cabbage in icy water for 30 minutes, then drain.
In a large bowl, mix cornflakes with butter.
Coat a 9x13x2 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Spread half of cornflake mixture on bottom of pan.
Cover with drained cabbage.
In a medium saucepan combine mayonnaise, soup and milk;
heat to just below boiling.
Pour this hot mixture over the cabbage.
Top with the grated cheese and remaining cornflake mixture.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes.
