Fresh Green Beans, Tomatoes + Bacon

6 slices bacon, cut into 1" pieces
1 large chopped onion
1 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed, cut into 1 1/2" pieces
1/2 c. chicken broth
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 medium chopped plum tomatoesRecipe
Cook bacon in a large skillet on medium heat until crisp, stirring occasionally.
Drain on paper towels. Reserve drippings in the skillet.
Add onions to the drippings and saute for 6 minutes or until lightly browned.
Add beans, chicken broth, salt and pepper and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat to medium/low.
Cover and simmer for 40 minutes or until the beans are very tender.
Stir in the tomatoes.
Increase the heat to medium/high and cook 3 minutes or until tomatoes are thoroughly heated.
Transfer to serving dish.
Sprinkle with bacon and serve immediately.
