This has a really nice flavor to it, not too hot either.
Chili #1, con Carnee**
seasonings:
1 Tablespoon unbleached flour
1 to 2 Tablespoons instant minced onion
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed dried red pepper
1/2 teaspoon instant minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon granulated white sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 pound ground beef
1, 15 1/2 ounce can kidney beans
1, 15 1/2 ounce can tomato sauce or water
2, 16 ounce cans chopped tomatoes
Combine seasonings in a small bowl and blend well. Set aside.
(Use right away or can save in an airtight container to use
within 6 months. Makes 1/4 cup.)
Brown beef in a medium skillet over medium high heat.
Add beans, tomato sauce, tomatoes and the 1/4 cup of
seasonings mix.
Reduce heat and simmer 10 - 20 minutes, stirring
occasionally.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
