    Clam Chowder #4, tomato style, quick

    Clam Chowder #4, tomato style, quick

    2 Tablespoons butter
    1 chopped medium onion
    3 chopped medium celery ribs
    2, 7 ounce cans minced clams, drained, liquid reserved
    ...or 1/4 pint drained chopped fresh
    water
    2 cups, sieved canned tomatoes
    salt and pepper to taste

    Saute onion, celery and clams in butter.
    Add water to reserved clam juice to make 1 cup.
    Combine clam liquid, tomatoes, sauteed mixture.
    Add salt and pepper. (May add tomato juice or
    water if thinner soup is desired).
    Simmer for 10 minutes, until clams are cooked
    and chowder is hot, but not boiling.
    Serve hot with soda crackers.
