    Green Bean + Ham Soup

    2 c. leftover ham
    2 14 1/2oz. cans cut green beans, or 1 lb. freshly cut
    2 large cubed potatoes,
    3 quarts water
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 medium minced onion
    4 minced bacon slices
    3 tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 c. milk

    Place the ham, green beans, potatoes, water, salt, pepper and garlic powder in a Dutch oven type pot.
    Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
    Saute the onion with the bacon and then add to the ham mixture.
    Mix the flour and milk together until there are no lumps.
    Then stir into the soup.
    Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
    Makes 6 - 8 servings.
