1 pound ground beef
1 pound bulk pork sausage
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1, 10 ounce package frozen Italian green beans
3 medium zucchini, cut into 1/2" pieces
2, 15 ounce cans tomato sauce
1, 16 ounce can whole tomatoes
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
2 cups biscuit baking mix
1 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Cook and stir meat, onion, pepper and garlic in a Dutch oven type
pot until brown; drain. Rinse green beans; drain. Stir beans,
zucchini, tomato sauce, tomatoes (with liquid), Italian seasoning,
salt and pepper into meat. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally;
reduce heat. Simmer, stirring occasionally 30 minutes.
Mix baking mix, 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning and the milk
until soft dough forms. Drop by spoonfuls onto hot stew; sprinkle
with cheese and, if desired, with paprika. Cook, uncovered over
low heat 10 minutes; cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
Serves 6 to 8.
