Recipe Introduction
The main idea was from crafttipsgalore daily newsletter,
however, I made several changes + additions of my own.
List of Ingredients
Craft - Punch Candle Holders
you will need:
old clean vegetable/coffee can(s)
permanent marker
stencil, if desired
water
hammer
nail
colored spray paint
contrasting color of paint for hand painting, optional
pillar or other candle(s), of proper size for can
Using the marker to draw the stencils or your own designs,
such as bird houses, hearts, stars, or flowers, or whatever
design you desire, onto the outside of the can(s), making sure
to space them evenly apart.
Fill the can(s) with water and let freeze. This will make a
solid surface that is much easier to punch the designs on.
Use the hammer and punch the nail tip into the outside of the
design; making sure to evenly space the holes.
Place the can(s) into your sink and let the ice melt out, OR
you may use the water for watering your plants, if possible.
Be sure to dry the can(s) well.
Evenly spray the sides and bottom of the can(s) with the spray
paint. Turn upside down on newspaper to let dry.
If desired, use a small brush to outline the punch designs on
the side(s) of the can(s) and let dry once again.
Melt a little wax into the bottom of the can(s) and place
candle(s) into the wax while still liquidy. Let set.
These make great gifts.Recipe
