Craft - Rag Quilts
When making a rag quilt, decide how large you want the
blocks to be. You can make it as large as you would like.
I like to use flannel fabric. Cut the blocks. Place them
wrong sides together. Then sew them together across from
corner to corner. This looks like an "X" going through each block.
Then decide how much of a seam allowance you want, (I use
about 1/2 inch). Sew the squares together.
After all the squares are sewn together, clip the seams
about every 1/2 inch, being careful not the cut the thread
attaching them together. Then wash and dry the quilt.
I usually shake it before i dry it to remove some of the
lint from the flannel. The washer and dryer will have a
lot of lint in them from this.
I have made 14 of these lately and cannot seem to stop.
I always have extra blocks left over and just have to make
another quilt. Have fun. Recipe
