    knit - Slippers

    List of Ingredients

    knit - Misses Size small (5) (medium 6; large 7)

    1, 4 ounce skein bulky yarn
    (can also use 2 stands of 4 ply worsted weight)
    size 10 1/2 knitting needles or size to obtain gauge

    Gauge: 3 st, 4 rows = 1 inch stockinet stitch

    Cast on 24 (26, or 28) sts.
    Knit 10 rows for garter stitch - for cuff
    Row 11 - K 9 (10, 11)
    increase in next st
    (knit in front and back of stitch to increase)
    place marker; k 4; place marker; inc in next
    stitch, knit to end of row
    Row 12 - P10 (11,12) inc. in next stitch (purl in front and back of
    stitch) P4, inc in next stitch, P to end of row
    Repeat rows 11 & 12 having 1 more st before 1st increase and after 2nd
    increase. At the end of row 23 there will be 50 (52,54) stitches on
    needle
    Row 24-32 Knit 8 rows in garter stitch, removing markers on first row.
    Row 33 - P 2 tog, P 21 (22,23); (P2 tog) twice; P 21, (22,23); P 2
    tog.
    Row 34 - K 2 tog, K 19 (20,21); (K 2 tog) twice; K 19 (20,21) K 2 tog.
    Row 35 - Bind of loosely in Purl. Sew Sole and back seam.

    For larger slippers, either add 2 stitches when casting on, or
    if to keep ankle tight, add more increase rows before
    the 8 rows of garter stitch, to make the desired foot length.
    Scaled down, these can be made for children or babies, using 1 stand
    of 4 ply yarn and size 5 needles for children; 1 strand baby or sport weight,
    size 2 or 4 needles for babies.
