Recipe Introduction
Here's another variation of the washcloth angel that
is also very inexpensive, easy, and loved. This is a
great idea for those just starting out or those who
need to refresh their kitchen towels.
List of Ingredients
craft - Kitchen Angels
you will need:
potholder
washcloth
kitchen towel
your choice of ribbon
...(good use for those odd pieces from old projects)
Fold the potholder like an accordion and tie in the middle,
(these will be the angel's wings). Pinch washcloth in the
middle; place on top of tied potholder and tie once with
the same ribbon, (this is the first step of the arms, which
are now attached to the wings, in the middle). Take the
towel and fold it in half, laying it on top of the arms, (there
should be just enough above the arms to form the head
and the bottom will be the dress). Bring each side of the
washcloth to front of towel (body); and tie the ribbon around
making a bow above the arms.
You should now have all parts attached with the potholder
on the back as wings and the washcloth coming around the
towel to form arms, the top of the towel where it is folded forms
the head. Decorate as you like.
Other variations:
forgoing the wings and tie each side of the towel to form
legs (the guys like this better than the cute angels, although
I have used darker colors for the guys and that seems okay
because they are going to take it apart anyway). I have also
used baby items to make angels (like a receiving blanket as
the body, with bodysuits as arms, and washcloths or bibs as
wings).
You can also add decoration - have the angel hold some
flowers or add gold pipe cleaner to back shaped as a halo.
I will say I have found it very easy to use one piece of ribbon
to complete each angel, but you can use different pieces to
get rid of those scraps and add a variety of color. Recipe
