sew - Fleece Hats, easy
My favorite pattern for hats is so easy and simple.
Using fleece (because none of the cut edges need
to be reinforced), measure a rectangle of fabric.
The rectangle should be wide enough to go around
the head where a hat rides, plus a inch or so for
comfort and a seam, And it should be long enough
to go the length of the head plus room for a few
roll-ups to form a "brim" around the front and a
pom-pom in the back if you desire.
To construct:
Sew the rectangle together across the length using
a 1/4 inch seam.
Leaving the seam on the outside, roll up the front
rim a couple of times and hand-tack.
Cut a 1/4inch to a 1/3 inch wide small length of the
fleece> Tie tightly around the back of the hat to
close it.
Cut the left over fabric past the tie into a pom-pom,
if desired or just crop off.
That's it. Short, simple, and very easy to do.
And think of the color choices!
